Frozen in ‘Once Upon a Time'

I haven’t seen the show since my niece moved away, but I have to admit that it was a guilty pleasure of mine for a while. ABC’s ‘Once Upon a Time’ completely captured the attention of the Disney loving little girl in me way before I had Cameron (my daughter).  She is about to be three this September and she is finally at the age in which the magical world of Disney is all she can talk about. It began with Frozen, and now we have moved on to Tangled and The Little Mermaid. Still, her obsession with Elsa hasn’t faded.

This is why I am extremely thrilled to find out that Once Upon a Time has introduced Elsa and Anna as characters in the show!!! Cameron and I are not so patiently waiting for the show to resume with its 4th season premiering Sunday September 28th  8/7 central on ABC.

Wedding Make-up Regret

I was so excited the morning of my wedding day, that I completely failed to notice that I hated my makeup! How could this have happened? We had a consultation, we talked about what I wanted and we planned it all out. I even wore this makeup all day long during my bridal portraits. Somehow, while looking at the whole packaged deal in the mirror, I had failed to see that the style of make-up I had on simply wasn’t 'me'.

Analyzing the situation later, I came to the conclusion that the biggest problem with my make-up-look was the fact that I had no eyeliner on my top lid. I always make it a point to put at least mascara and eyeliner on before getting out of the house; so looking at pictures of me after the fact was strange, because I didn’t feel like I looked like myself without it.
Getting ready for my bridal shots, as you can see, I have no top liner or defined lashes.
It was then that I realized how important make-up was. Originally I considered spending money on being beautiful shallow and unnecessary for the big day. I thought I wanted to be natural, and as close to my normal self as I possibly could, but let's be real, that is not really what I wanted. Seeing before and after make-up images from brides in wedding magazines really put everything into perspective. Make-up can make or break any bridal look, and It can definitely transform you, and on you wedding day you just want to look beautiful!

I have seen plenty of brides go through this experience. Luckily, most of them are able to notice it the day of their bridal portraits. In order to avoid wedding make-up regret I would recommend most brides-to-be is to do your make-up homework. Here are some tips to make the best out of your bridal make-up look.

1.) Do the consultations.
Some brides tend to skip these and hire someone for the bridal portrait day only to minimize costs. Doing this may give you the extra headache of having to re-shoot the images.

2.) Know what you want.
Research, research, research! Check out Pinterest for styles and define what you want. You can go as far as printing out your make-up looks or bringing magazine cutouts for your make-up artist. Also, Youtube has an amazing make-up community with girls that will walk you step by step towards achieving your desired look. They will even recommend which products and colors to use.

3.) Be Specific.
You can never give too much detail. I used to be the kind of person that would tell their stylist “whatever you prefer, you are the professional” That is exactly why I ended up with platinum hair, which was never my intent. Be specific as to what you want and the look and feel you are trying to achieve.

4.) Document your style.
During a consultation have the makeup stylist take notes on the products and colors they used for your make-up. Also, make sure that you take a picture of your completed look so the stylist can easily replicate the look the day of the wedding.

If you don't want to break the bank by hiring a professional make-up artist, check out these girls on Youtube, they will help you with everything you need to know to dab into creating your look all on your own. Picking The Right Engagement Ring Style

As Vera Wang said while talking about her LOVE wedding ring collection, having the groom propose with a wedding band “is a tradition that never goes away.”
Getting engaged is an extraordinary moment in the lives of any couple. Originally, the tradition of the giving of the ring did not have such a sweet concept. The betrothal ring was given to symbolize ownership of the future bride as a form of contract. This custom has greatly evolved throughout the years to become the single moment that will interlace you with your significant other with the promise of a future. As we all know, grooms have sealed this promise for centuries with the giving of a ring; which now symbolizes the eternity of his commitment towards his future bride.

There are many beautiful styles of rings. Unfortunately, in most cases, the groom picks the ring himself; leaving no room for the bride’s input or taste. Is not like we can go around hinting and letting him know our preferences like I’m left doing with my hubby during Christmas time… With luck, your guy was smart enough to ask your sister, or your best friend for your perfect ring style. This means that you have some deceptions to make in regards to finding out a perfect-for-you ring style.

Something Colorful and Something Blue

Being a wedding photographer and a make-up and fashion junkie, I enjoy spotting the up-coming trends that develop throughout time for weddings. Ordinarily, wedding theme-colors can be observed in wedding flowers, cakes, bridesmaid’s dresses and even the bride’s shoes. However, more and more of our brides have extended that trend to their fingertips; because wearing your wedding color as nail polish is definitely in.

In addition to showcasing your choice of color, brides have been displaying their ‘something blue’ with accent jewelry in the form of a ring on their right hand. You can definitely double up on traditions by borrowing a blue ring to make it your ‘something borrowed’ as well!
Bellow you will be able to find some examples of this soft, yet glamorous trend and the additional way to accessorize the newest style.
